Elfyn Evans to compete on local terrain

22-year old rally driver Elfyn Evans and co-driver Andrew Edwards, are to compete in Wales Rally GB, a British round of the World Rally Championship this weekend.

The four-day rally is spread across the country and will involve up to 150 cars. Elfyn Evans, of Dolgellau Gwynedd, comments on the upcoming rally:

“My experience of the WRC so far has given me a real taster of competing on that level and I am really looking forward to this opportunity. I have my sights on competing outside of the UK next year, so this experience allowing me to improve my skills is extremely important. This is undoubtedly a tough rally, but at least we will both be competing on familiar terrain.”

Elfyn and Andrew will compete in the Ford Fiesta R2. The driving duo finished an impressive 16th overall in France, beating the entire field of talented drivers from the WRC Academy. Elfyn Evans achieved second place in the BRC this year.
