Welshman finishes sixth as Toyota Gazoo Racing win championship.
Despite not achieving a podium result at Rally de Espana, Elfyn still had cause for celebration after his Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team sealed the manufacturer championship for the second consecutive season.
Elfyn struggled on the opening day of the all-asphalt event to find that last bit of pace to allow him to challenge for the top spots and a front left punctured tyre saw him drop around 40 seconds to the leaders.
The feeling on Saturday improved slightly but he was still searching for more and made some set-up tweaks during the day to try and improve further.
He had to settle for sixth place but, along with the other team results, was enough to see Toyota reclaim the WRC’s manufacturer title on their first season with the new hybrid GR Yaris rally car.
Elfyn heads to Rally Japan for the final WRC round on 10-13 November.
