WRC star is brand ambassador for EV Cargo for 2022.
Elfyn Evans has signed a new partnership with global logistics giant EV Cargo for the 2022 season.
Elfyn’s bid to land the FIA World Rally Championship title will be backed by the logistics and technology business.
Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team star Elfyn, who is looking to go one better than last season’s runner-up spot in the title race, said: “It’s great to have EV Cargo’s support for 2022. With the new technical rules and completely new hybrid rally cars for next season, it’s set to be a thrilling and exciting spectacle that we can bring to even more fans and spectators.”
Elfyn will bid for the world crown in a historic season for the sport. He will drive the all-new Toyota Gazoo Racing hybrid car, which recovers energy during braking and can run in full electric mode on non-competitive road sections.
EV Cargo has been impressed with the focus on innovation and sustainability and sees popular Welshman Elfyn as the perfect brand ambassador.
Dave Holland, EV Cargo executive vice president marketing and communications, said: “With this partnership, EV Cargo is not only benefitting from global brand building and media exposure but is investing to create new, innovative opportunities to activate its sustainability strategy.
“Like EV Cargo, the World Rally Championship is investing in new technology and pioneering sustainability initiatives to promote decarbonising transport. Elfyn is one of the world’s top drivers and he will be an exciting ambassador to represent the EV Cargo brand throughout the 2022 season.”
The season kicks off with the iconic Rallye Monte Carlo on 20 January 2022 and takes in 13 events across Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific.
